He is a full professor of the Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on model theory and applications to algebra, differential geometry, and algebraic geometry. He led the interdisciplinary group Chequeo Covid Colombia. He coordinated a group of experts who analyzed the news and scientific evidence about the covid-19 circulated in the media and social networks in Colombia. He holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley.
